The Womanizer Liberty 2 is a compact air-pulse stimulator designed around portability: a 90 g body, a cover case that closes magnetically over the device and a travel lock that keeps it switched off in a bag. It uses the same Pleasure Air principle as the larger Womanizer models in a simpler format, with eight intensity levels and two buttons. This review is based on Womanizer’s official product page and online user manual; we have not run laboratory tests or acoustic measurements.

What we like

  • Magnetic cover case keeps the head clean in a bag
  • Compact 90 g body with IPX7 waterproofing
  • Travel lock prevents accidental switch-on
  • Up to 120 min of use and a 60 min charge

Limitations

  • 8 intensity levels, fewer than the Premium 2 (14)
  • No Autopilot mode, unlike the Premium 2
  • No noise level published by Womanizer

Overview & Design

The Liberty 2 measures about 105 × 50 × 40 mm and weighs around 90 g, according to Womanizer, which makes it one of the smallest devices in our catalogue. Its rounded, flattened body fits in the palm, and the two buttons (minus and plus) sit within reach of the thumb, so intensity can be changed without looking at the device.

Its signature feature is the hygienic cover case. The case slides over the device and fastens with a magnetic closure, so the stimulation head is protected from dust and contact with other items when the Liberty 2 is carried in a bag or stored in a drawer. Combined with the travel lock, which keeps the device switched off during transport (hold the + and − buttons together for two seconds: the device pulses twice to confirm, and charging it also releases the lock, according to the manual), this is what makes the Liberty 2 a practical travel option rather than simply a smaller version of the Womanizer Premium 2.

The stimulation head is made of body-safe silicone and the body of ABS plastic. Learn what to look for in manufacturer documentation in our guide to body-safe silicone and materials.

Pleasure Air Technology & Intensity Levels

Like other Womanizer devices, the Liberty 2 uses Pleasure Air technology: a small chamber behind a soft silicone nozzle changes volume rhythmically, producing alternating waves of gentle suction and pressure. Stimulation is transmitted through the air pocket rather than by direct vibration of a surface against the skin, which many people find gentler on sensitive tissue.

Womanizer lists eight intensity levels for the Liberty 2. That is a narrower range than the Premium 2, which offers fourteen levels, and the manufacturer does not list the Premium 2’s automatic features (Autopilot, which varies intensity on its own, and Smart Silence, which starts the device only on skin contact) for the Liberty 2. In practice, the Liberty 2 is controlled entirely by hand with its two buttons: simpler to learn, but with fewer options for fine adjustment.

Noise Level (dB) & Battery Life

Womanizer does not publish a noise level for the Liberty 2, either on its product page or in its online user manual, and we do not turn product descriptions into a decibel value. Our specification panels therefore show “Not published”, and the Liberty 2 is not ranked in our guide to the quietest devices, which only includes devices with a stated noise level. What Womanizer does document is the travel lock, which keeps the device from switching on, and making noise, in a bag. As with any device, perceived noise depends on the intensity setting and on the surface it rests on; bedding absorbs part of the sound, while hard surfaces amplify it. For the physics behind these figures, see our noise and decibel guide.

The Liberty 2 uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery (3.7 V, 160 mAh). Womanizer’s product page states a run time of up to 120 minutes and a charging time of about 60 minutes; its online user manual gives 90 minutes for both. We use the product page’s specification table, the more detailed of the two. The manufacturer-stated run time is an upper figure: it varies with the intensity used, and higher levels shorten it. Charging uses a magnetic USB cable that attaches to the contacts on the device, with no open port to protect. Womanizer covers the Liberty 2 with a 5-year warranty.

Hygiene, Silicone Care & IPX7 Waterproofing

The Liberty 2 has an IPX7 rating, which indicates protection against temporary immersion in water up to one metre for up to 30 minutes. It can therefore be rinsed thoroughly and used in the shower, although it is not designed for prolonged use underwater.

  • After every use: rinse the nozzle and body under warm running water, then wash with a mild, fragrance-free soap or a dedicated toy cleaner; rinse inside the nozzle carefully to remove residue.
  • Drying: pat dry with a lint-free cloth and let the device dry completely, including the nozzle, before closing the cover case.
  • Charging: make sure the magnetic contacts are clean and dry before connecting the cable. Never charge a wet device.
  • Lubricant: use a water-based lubricant; silicone-based lubricants can degrade silicone surfaces over time.
  • Storage: keep it in its cover case once dry, away from direct sunlight and from devices made of porous materials such as jelly or TPE.

The cover case helps keep the head clean between uses, but it does not replace cleaning: always wash the device before and after use.

Who It’s For (and Who Should Skip It)

Who it’s for

The Liberty 2 suits people who want an air-pulse device for travel or discreet storage: the magnetic cover case, the travel lock and the 90 g body are designed for a bag. Its two-button control and eight intensity levels also make it an approachable first air-pulse device for beginners.

Who should skip it

Those who want automatic modes such as Autopilot, or the finer fourteen-level range of the Premium 2, should look at the Womanizer Premium 2 instead. The Liberty 2 provides external stimulation only: people looking for combined internal and external stimulation should consider a dual device such as the Womanizer Duo 2. If a stated noise level matters to you, choose a device from our quiet devices ranking.

Verdict

The Womanizer Liberty 2 earns a 4.3 rating as the travel-oriented option in our air-pulse ranking. Its strengths are practical: a magnetic cover case that protects the head, a travel lock, a compact 90 g body and an IPX7 rating that makes cleaning straightforward. Its manufacturer-stated run time of up to two hours is in line with most compact devices.

The trade-offs are a simpler feature set than the Premium 2 (eight intensity levels instead of fourteen, no Autopilot), external stimulation only and no published noise level. If portability and hygiene in transport are your priorities, it is a well-designed choice; if you want the most complete air-pulse device, the Premium 2 remains our top pick.
