IntimPicks is reader-supported. This page explains, in plain language, how we earn money and how we protect the independence of our reviews, in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and equivalent consumer-protection rules in other countries.
Our affiliate relationships
Some links on IntimPicks are affiliate links. If you click one and then make a purchase from the retailer or manufacturer, we may receive a commission. You do not pay anything extra: the price is the same whether or not you use our link.
We may participate in affiliate programmes run directly by brands or through affiliate networks. We do not have an affiliate relationship with every product we review, and whether a product earns us a commission has no bearing on whether we cover it or how we rate it.
How our links work
Affiliate links on IntimPicks use addresses that begin with intimpicks.com/go/, for example /go/product-name/. When you click one:
- Our server immediately redirects you to the retailer’s page using a temporary redirect (HTTP 307).
- The retailer or the affiliate network may then set its own cookie on your device to attribute the sale to IntimPicks. That cookie is controlled by the retailer or network, not by us.
- These links are marked as sponsored (
rel="sponsored") and are excluded from search engine indexing.
We use this format to keep links tidy, up to date and clearly identifiable as affiliate links. It does not hide where you are going: the destination is always the retailer or manufacturer named on the button.
Editorial independence
- Ratings and rankings are decided by our editorial team using the same criteria for every product.
- No brand, retailer or affiliate network can pay for a review, a higher rating or a better position in a ranking.
- Brands do not see or approve our content before publication.
- We include drawbacks for every product, including products that earn us a commission.
- If we receive a product for evaluation free of charge, we say so in the review.
Neutrality of ratings
Our scores reflect materials, ergonomics, noise level, battery life, waterproofing and ease of care. Commission rates are never part of the scoring. A product that pays a higher commission is not ranked higher for that reason, and a product with no affiliate programme can, and does, rank at the top of a category.
Prices and availability
Prices, promotions and stock levels are set by retailers and can change at any time. Always check the final price and the retailer’s terms before you buy.
