Lovense Lush 3 vs We-Vibe Sync 2: App-Controlled Intimate Tech
On this page
The Lovense Lush 3 and the We-Vibe Sync 2 are both hands-free, app-controlled devices, but they are built for different situations. The Lush 3 is a wearable designed for individual use, including away from home, with control that can be handed to a partner anywhere through the Lovense app. The Sync 2 is a couples’ device worn during shared intimacy, with an adjustable hinge, a remote and the We-Vibe app. This comparison is based on manufacturer specifications, published product documentation and the mechanics of each design.

Quick verdict
Choose the Lovense Lush 3 if…
- you want a discreet wearable for individual use, worn hands-free;
- long-distance control is the priority: a partner can control it from anywhere through the Lovense app;
- you want the quieter device and the longer run time: around 43 dB and up to 220 minutes, according to Lovense.
Choose the We-Vibe Sync 2 if…
- you want a device shared by two people during intimacy, with an inner and an outer arm;
- fit matters: its adjustable hinge holds the gap between the arms that suits you;
- you want more ways to control it: a button, a dedicated remote or the app, so it remains fully usable without a smartphone.
Both use body-safe silicone, are rated IPX7 and support long-distance control through their brand’s app; the Lush 3 runs longer and more quietly, the Sync 2 offers more ways to control it. The Lush 3 ranks first in our app-controlled ranking (4.2/5) for long-distance control; the Sync 2 ranks first in our couples’ ranking (4.4/5) for its hands-free, adjustable design.
Specifications side by side
Values from manufacturer data and published product documentation. Noise levels are approximate, not laboratory measurements. Run times are upper figures and vary with the intensity and app use. We do not list prices, which change often: both sit in the mid-to-premium range, the Sync 2 at the higher end.
Signal stability and range
Both devices connect to a smartphone over Bluetooth, and both can be controlled by a partner far away: the phone paired with the device relays commands received from the partner’s app over the internet. The difference lies in how the connection is kept up while the device is worn.
The Lush 3 is worn with only its tail outside the body, and that tail carries the antenna. Lovense redesigned the antenna and circuit board for this generation to keep the Bluetooth link stable, and states a range of up to 75 metres outdoors; in practice, keep the paired phone within a few metres, because the body and thick clothing weaken a Bluetooth signal. The Sync 2 is used between two people in close proximity, usually with the phone or the remote within arm’s reach, so range is rarely a limitation; its dedicated remote also works without a phone.
Ergonomics and hold
The Lush 3 is a single egg-shaped body worn internally, with its fixed tail resting outside. It has no adjustment mechanism: according to Lovense, the fixed tail helps it stay in place, so it can be worn hands-free during everyday activity at home or away, with a partner or the user controlling it from the app.
The Sync 2 is designed for two. One arm is positioned internally and the other rests externally, and the adjustable hinge between them is set once to the user’s anatomy and then holds that shape. This keeps the device stable and comfortable between two bodies, so both partners feel the vibration without holding it. In both cases, start at a low intensity, use a water-based lubricant and stop if you feel any discomfort.
Vibration and control
Neither manufacturer publishes a comparable measure of motor output, so we do not rank the two on power. What differs is how the vibration is delivered and adjusted. The Lush 3 vibrates through its single body, and its intensity and patterns are set almost entirely in the Lovense app, including patterns created by the user or a partner. The Sync 2 delivers vibration through both arms at the same time, so a single device stimulates internally and externally; We-Vibe lists ten intensity levels and several vibration patterns, which can be changed with the button on the device, the remote or the app.
In practice, the Lush 3 depends on the app for most of its features, while the Sync 2 remains fully usable without a smartphone. Both are at the quiet end of our catalogue: around 43 dB for the Lush 3, the quietest device we list (maximum stated by Lovense), and around 45 dB for the Sync 2, both comparable to a quiet library. For the physics behind these figures, see our noise and decibel guide.
App reliability, updates and latency
With any connected device, the experience depends on the app as much as on the hardware:
- Updates: keep the app and, where offered, the device firmware up to date. Updates can improve connection stability and add features.
- Long-distance latency: remote commands travel over the internet to the paired phone, then over Bluetooth to the device. A short delay is normal and depends on both partners’ connections; a stable Wi-Fi or mobile signal on both sides helps.
- Fallback: the Sync 2 keeps working with its button and remote if the app or the connection fails. The Lush 3 has a power button, but most of its control relies on the app.
- Privacy: review each app’s privacy settings and permissions, use the app’s own account security options and only share control with people you trust.
Materials, water resistance and care
- Materials: both use body-safe, non-porous silicone. The manufacturer’s documentation remains the reference for full material details. Learn what to look for in our guide to body-safe silicone and materials.
- Water resistance: both are rated IPX7, which allows temporary immersion up to one metre for up to 30 minutes, thorough rinsing and use in the bath or shower. Bluetooth does not work through water, so app control may drop while a device is submerged; the Sync 2’s remote should be kept dry.
- Cleaning: after every use, wash with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap or a dedicated toy cleaner, then rinse. On the Lush 3, clean the tail and its base carefully; on the Sync 2, clean both arms, the inner curve and around the hinge.
- Charging: the Lush 3 charges through a magnetic port in about 80 minutes, the Sync 2 with a USB cable in up to 90 minutes. Make sure the charging contacts are clean and completely dry before charging, and never charge a wet device.
- Lubricant: use a water-based lubricant; silicone-based lubricants can degrade silicone surfaces over time. If you use condoms, choose a condom-compatible lubricant.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Lovense Lush 3 and the We-Vibe Sync 2 be controlled from a distance?
Yes. The Lush 3 uses the Lovense app and the Sync 2 the We-Vibe app (formerly We-Connect); both let a partner control the device over the internet. Both partners need a smartphone with the app and a stable connection. The Sync 2 can also be used with its button or remote, without a phone.
Is the Lovense Lush 3 waterproof like the We-Vibe Sync 2?
Yes. According to their manufacturers, both are rated IPX7, which allows temporary immersion up to one metre for up to 30 minutes, so both can be rinsed thoroughly and used in the bath or shower. Bluetooth does not work through water, so app control may drop while a device is submerged.
Which is better for couples, the Lush 3 or the Sync 2?
For shared use in the same room, the We-Vibe Sync 2: it is worn by one partner during intimacy, with an inner and an outer arm, so both feel the vibration. For couples apart, the Lovense Lush 3 is designed around long-distance control from the Lovense app, although the Sync 2 also supports it.
