The Satisfyer Double Joy and the We-Vibe Sync 2 are both couples’ vibrators worn during shared intimacy, with an inner arm positioned internally and an outer arm resting externally, so both partners feel the vibration while hands stay free. They differ in how they adapt to the body, how long they run and how they are positioned on price: the Double Joy is the accessible connected option, the Sync 2 the adjustable reference. This comparison is based on manufacturer specifications, published product documentation and the mechanics of each design.

Quick verdict

Choose the Satisfyer Double Joy if…

  • you want a connected couples’ device, including partner control over the internet, without a premium budget;
  • you like two motors, one in each arm, and ten programs you can edit in the Satisfyer Connect app;
  • a light, flexible U-shape (around 78 g) suits you and around one hour of run time is enough.

Choose the We-Vibe Sync 2 if…

  • fit matters most: its adjustable hinge lets you set the gap between the inner and outer arms;
  • you want the longer run time, up to around 2 hours according to We-Vibe;
  • you want the option of a remote as well as the app.

Both are IPX7 devices made with body-safe silicone and controllable from a smartphone, nearby or over long distances. The Sync 2 ranks first in our couples’ ranking (4.4/5) for its adjustable fit, run time and remote; the Double Joy ranks third (4.2/5) and is the best value with app control.

Fit and adjustability: fixed U-curve vs adjustable hinge

A couples’ device sits between two bodies, so the way it holds its position decides whether it stays comfortable and in place. This is the clearest mechanical difference between the two.

Satisfyer Double Joy: a fixed, flexible U-curve

The Double Joy is a U-shape with a wider outer arm, which carries the buttons, and a slimmer inner arm. There is no hinge or adjustment mechanism: the curve is fixed, and the device adapts only through the natural flexibility of the silicone. It is light (around 78 g according to Satisfyer) and compact, but because the gap between the arms cannot be set, the fit and stability during shared use vary more from one couple to another.

We-Vibe Sync 2: an adjustable hinge

The Sync 2 joins its two arms with an adjustable hinge that can be set to several positions and then holds that shape. You set the gap between the inner and outer arms to your anatomy before use, and the device keeps that fit. This predictable, set-and-forget adjustment is the main reason it ranks first in our couples’ ranking.

In both cases, if the first position does not feel right, adjust the device before increasing intensity, use a water-based lubricant and stop if you feel any discomfort.

Connectivity: Satisfyer Connect vs the We-Vibe app

Both devices can be used without a smartphone and gain features when paired with their brand’s free app.

  • Satisfyer Connect (Double Joy): pairs over Bluetooth; according to Satisfyer, the app lets you edit the ten preset programs and create new ones, turn a music playlist or ambient sound into vibration, and give control to a partner nearby or over the internet.
  • We-Vibe app (Sync 2): formerly called We-Connect; according to We-Vibe, it adds patterns and lets a partner control the device nearby or over distance. The Sync 2 can also be controlled with a remote or the buttons on the device.

Long-distance control relies on both partners having a smartphone, the app and a stable internet connection. With any connected device, review the app’s privacy settings and permissions, and keep it updated. For other connected devices, see our app-controlled ranking.

Battery life and charging

The Sync 2 has the clear advantage. We-Vibe states a run time of up to 120 minutes and a charging time of up to 90 minutes. Satisfyer’s quick start guide gives the Double Joy about 60 minutes on a full charge, with about 4.5 hours of charging. On both, higher intensities and app use shorten the run time, so charge the device fully before use. The Double Joy charges with a magnetic USB cable, with no open port to protect; We-Vibe describes a USB charging cable for the Sync 2.

Acoustic discretion

We list the Sync 2 at around 45 dB, an approximate value comparable to a quiet library. Satisfyer publishes no noise level for the Double Joy, so we cannot compare the two on a figure; the intensity setting and the surface also matter. Both are worn between two bodies during use, and soft tissue and bedding absorb part of the sound. For the physics behind these figures, see our noise and decibel guide.

Materials, waterproofing and care

  • Materials: both use body-safe, non-porous silicone on the surfaces that touch the skin; the Double Joy has an ABS core. Learn what to look for in our guide to body-safe silicone and materials.
  • Waterproofing: both are rated IPX7, which allows temporary immersion up to one metre for up to 30 minutes and thorough rinsing. Bluetooth does not work through water.
  • Cleaning: wash both arms and the inner curve after every use with warm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap or a dedicated toy cleaner, then let the device dry completely. On the Sync 2, clean around the hinge carefully.
  • Charging: make sure the charging contacts are clean and completely dry before connecting the cable. Never charge a wet device.
  • Lubricant: use a water-based lubricant; silicone-based lubricants can degrade silicone surfaces over time. If you use condoms, choose a condom-compatible lubricant.

Where they rank

In our couples’ ranking, the We-Vibe Sync 2 is first (4.4/5), the We-Vibe Chorus second (4.3/5) and the Satisfyer Double Joy third (4.2/5), as the best value with app control. To compare the two We-Vibe models, see our We-Vibe Sync 2 vs We-Vibe Chorus comparison.

Frequently asked questions

How does the fit of the Sync 2 compare to the Double Joy?

The Sync 2 has an adjustable hinge: you set the gap between its inner and outer arms to your anatomy and it holds that position. The Double Joy has a fixed U-curve made of flexible silicone, with no adjustment mechanism, so it adapts only through the flexibility of the material. The Sync 2 is therefore easier to fit to different bodies.

Can both vibrators be controlled remotely over long distances?

Yes. The Double Joy uses the Satisfyer Connect app and the Sync 2 the We-Vibe app (formerly We-Connect); both let a partner control the device over the internet. Both partners need a smartphone with the app and a stable connection, and both devices can also be used without the app.

Which couples vibrator offers better battery life?

The We-Vibe Sync 2: We-Vibe states a run time of up to 120 minutes. Satisfyer gives about 60 minutes for the Double Joy. On both, higher intensities and app use shorten the run time.
