Comparison
Womanizer Liberty 2 vs Womanizer Premium 2: Travel Portability vs Flagship Performance
On this page
The Womanizer Liberty 2 and the Womanizer Premium 2 use the same Pleasure Air technology for external stimulation, but they are built for different situations: the Liberty 2 is a compact device designed for travel and discreet storage, the Premium 2 is the brand’s full-featured model for use at home. This comparison is based on manufacturer specifications, published product documentation and the mechanics of each design.

Quick verdict
Choose the Womanizer Liberty 2 if…
- you want a device for travel: a 90 g body, a cover case that closes magnetically over the device and a travel lock;
- simple two-button control with eight intensity levels is enough for you;
- a manufacturer-stated run time of up to 2 hours covers your sessions between charges.
Choose the Womanizer Premium 2 if…
- you want the finest control: fourteen intensity levels instead of eight;
- you value automatic features: Autopilot varies the intensity on its own, and Smart Silence starts the device only on skin contact;
- you want the longest run time in our air-pulse ranking, up to 240 minutes according to Womanizer.
Both are IPX7 devices with body-safe silicone heads. Womanizer publishes no noise level for either model. The Premium 2 ranks first in our air-pulse ranking (4.6/5) as the most complete device; the Liberty 2 ranks fifth (4.3/5) as the best option for travel.
Specifications side by side
Values from manufacturer data and published product documentation. Womanizer publishes no noise level for either model. Run times are manufacturer-stated upper figures and vary with the intensity used.
Portability and design
This is the difference that defines the two devices. The Liberty 2 measures about 105 × 50 × 40 mm and weighs around 90 g, according to Womanizer. Its cover case slides over the device and fastens with a magnetic closure, so the stimulation head is protected from dust and contact with other items in a bag, and its travel lock keeps it switched off during transport. Two buttons, within reach of the thumb, handle all the controls.
The Premium 2 is longer and heavier: about 155 × 50 × 35 mm and around 141 g. Its elongated body gives a fuller grip and room for more controls, and it comes with two stimulation heads and a cotton storage pouch. Womanizer does not list a travel lock or a protective case for it, so it is better suited to use and storage at home. If you take it on a trip, keep it in its pouch and check that it cannot be switched on by pressure in your bag.
Pleasure Air technology and intensity
Both devices use Womanizer’s Pleasure Air technology: a small chamber behind a soft silicone nozzle changes volume rhythmically, producing alternating waves of gentle suction and pressure. Stimulation is transmitted through the air pocket rather than by direct vibration of a surface against the skin, which many people find gentler on sensitive tissue.
The difference lies in the range of settings. The Liberty 2 offers eight intensity levels, which are easy to learn and enough for many users, especially those new to air-pulse devices. The Premium 2 offers fourteen, so each step between levels is smaller and the intensity can be adjusted more precisely. If you often find yourself between two settings, the wider range of the Premium 2 is the practical advantage.
Autopilot and Smart Silence
The Premium 2 has two automatic features that the manufacturer does not list for the Liberty 2:
- Autopilot: when activated, the device alternates between intensity levels on its own, without manual adjustment. It suits those who prefer not to use the buttons during a session; it can be switched off to return to manual control.
- Smart Silence: the device starts only when the head touches the skin and switches to standby when contact is lost. It does not lower the noise level during use, but it means the device does not run, and make noise, while it is lifted away, and it saves battery.
The Liberty 2 is controlled entirely by hand with its two buttons. That is simpler, but the intensity stays where you set it and the device keeps running until you switch it off.
Battery life and charging
The Premium 2 has the clear advantage. Womanizer states a run time of up to 240 minutes, the longest in our air-pulse ranking, with a charging time of about 120 minutes. The Liberty 2 runs for up to 120 minutes and charges in about 60 minutes, in line with most compact devices. On both, higher intensities shorten the run time. Both charge with a magnetic USB cable that attaches to the contacts on the device, with no open port to protect.
Acoustic profile and hygiene
Womanizer publishes no noise level for either model, so we cannot compare the two on a figure. Each has a documented way to avoid unwanted noise: the Premium 2’s Smart Silence keeps it in standby when it is lifted away, and the Liberty 2’s travel lock keeps it switched off in a bag. The intensity setting and the surface the device rests on also matter. Bedding absorbs part of the sound, while hard surfaces amplify it. For the physics behind these figures, see our noise and decibel guide.
- Materials: both have body-safe, non-porous silicone heads; we list an ABS body for the Liberty 2, while Womanizer lists body-safe silicone for the whole Premium 2. Learn what to look for in manufacturer documentation in our guide to body-safe silicone and materials.
- Waterproofing: both are rated IPX7, which allows temporary immersion up to one metre for up to 30 minutes and thorough rinsing. Neither is designed for prolonged use underwater.
- Cleaning: after every use, rinse the nozzle under warm running water, then wash with a mild, fragrance-free soap or a dedicated toy cleaner, rinsing inside the nozzle carefully. On the Premium 2, the heads can be removed for cleaning.
- Drying and storage: let the device dry completely before storage or charging. The cover case of the Liberty 2 keeps the head protected once dry, but it does not replace cleaning.
- Lubricant: use a water-based lubricant; silicone-based lubricants can degrade silicone surfaces over time.
