Comparison
Womanizer Duo 2 vs LELO Enigma: Dual-Stimulation Comparison
On this page
The Womanizer Duo 2 and the LELO Enigma are the two premium dual-stimulation devices in our catalogue: both pair an external stimulator with an internal arm, so both areas are addressed at the same time. They differ in the technology used on the outside, in how the internal arm adapts to the body, and in how they are cleaned. This comparison is based on manufacturer specifications and the mechanics of each design.

Quick verdict
Choose the Womanizer Duo 2 if…
- you prefer a gentle, indirect external sensation from pressure waves (Pleasure Air);
- you want to set the external head and the internal arm independently;
- you want Smart Silence, which keeps it off until it is almost touching the skin, and a removable head in two sizes (S and M).
Choose the LELO Enigma if…
- you prefer a deeper, more resonant external sensation from sonic waves (SenSonic);
- you want a one-piece silicone body with no detachable head, simple to clean;
- you want a flexible internal arm and eight settings in a device without an app.
Both are rechargeable, waterproof devices made with body-safe silicone, with a vibrating internal arm. The Duo 2 ranks first in our dual stimulation ranking (4.6/5) for its independent controls, its IPX7 rating and Smart Silence; the Enigma is second (4.4/5) and the better choice if you prefer sonic waves and a one-piece body.
Specifications side by side
Values from manufacturer data and published product documentation. Neither Womanizer nor LELO publishes a noise level for these two models; run times are manufacturer-stated and vary with intensity.
External technology: Pleasure Air vs SenSonic
Womanizer Duo 2: Pleasure Air
The Duo 2’s external head uses Womanizer’s Pleasure Air technology: a small chamber behind a soft silicone nozzle creates rhythmic changes in air pressure, so stimulation is transmitted through the air pocket rather than by direct vibration. The sensation is often described as gentle and indirect, which many people find more comfortable on sensitive tissue.
LELO Enigma: SenSonic sonic waves
The Enigma’s external head uses LELO’s SenSonic technology: sonic waves emitted through an open, flexible silicone head, which LELO designs to reach beyond the surface of the skin. The sensation is usually described as deeper and more resonant than pressure waves. Both are designed for indirect external stimulation.
On both devices, the internal arm uses a conventional vibration motor. The difference you feel comes mainly from the external head: softer and more diffuse with the Duo 2, deeper with the Enigma.
Ergonomics: the internal arm and your anatomy
On a dual device, the distance and angle between the external head and the internal arm decide whether both reach the right place at the same time. Anatomy varies, so the way the arm adapts matters more than its exact dimensions.
- Womanizer Duo 2: Womanizer’s manual gives no dimensions or weight and does not describe the arm’s flexibility; to adjust the fit of the external part, it includes two head sizes, S and M. The device is longer than a single-function model, and its controls are split between the two functions.
- LELO Enigma: a one-piece body whose internal arm LELO describes as fully flexible, so it can also follow the body; LELO lists an insertable length of 140 mm and a weight of 196 g. Its three-button interface covers eight settings.
Both arms are flexible; if you want to adjust the internal and external functions separately, the Duo 2 is the safer choice. In both cases, start at the lowest intensity, use plenty of water-based lubricant and stop if you feel any pain or discomfort.
Acoustic discretion
Neither Womanizer nor LELO publishes a noise level for these two models, so we cannot compare them on a figure. The Duo 2 has Smart Silence, switched on by default: it only starts when it is almost touching the skin, which avoids the sound of a device running between positions, without lowering its running noise. If a stated noise level matters to you, see our quiet devices ranking. Both house two motors, and both sound quieter in use than on a table because soft tissue and bedding absorb part of the sound. For the physics behind these figures, see our noise and decibel guide.
Materials, waterproofing and care
- Materials: both use body-safe, non-porous silicone on the parts that touch the skin, with an ABS body. Learn what to look for, and how to read material claims, in our guide to body-safe silicone and materials.
- Waterproofing: the Duo 2 is rated IPX7, which allows temporary immersion; LELO describes the Enigma as 100% waterproof and suitable for the bath and shower, without an IP rating. Both can be rinsed thoroughly.
- Hygiene design: the Duo 2’s stimulation head can be removed to clean underneath, and two sizes are included. The Enigma has no detachable head, leaving fewer joints where residue can collect; clean the junction between the head and the arm carefully.
- Charging: the Duo 2 charges through magnetic charging pins with the supplied USB cable (about 120 minutes for a full charge, according to Womanizer); the Enigma the supplied USB charging cord (about 2 hours for a full charge, according to LELO). On both, make sure the charging point is clean and dry before charging.
- Lubricant: use a water-based lubricant; silicone-based lubricants can degrade silicone surfaces over time.
Where they rank
In our dual stimulation ranking, the Womanizer Duo 2 is first (4.6/5) and the LELO Enigma second (4.4/5). If you mainly want external stimulation, see our Womanizer Premium 2 vs LELO Sona 2 Cruise comparison, the single-function counterparts of these two technologies, or the air-pulse ranking.

Frequently asked questions
Is SenSonic the same as air-pulse?
No. Air-pulse devices such as the Womanizer Duo 2 create changes in air pressure inside a nozzle; LELO’s SenSonic technology uses sonic waves emitted through an open head. Both are designed for indirect external stimulation, but the sensation differs.
Can I use only the external function?
On the Duo 2, the two functions can be set independently, so you can use the external head alone. LELO does not describe independent control of the Enigma’s two functions on its product page; it lists eight settings, so check the manual for the available modes.
Which one is easier to clean?
Both can be rinsed under running water (IPX7 for the Duo 2, described as 100% waterproof by LELO for the Enigma). The Enigma’s one-piece body has fewer joints; the Duo 2’s removable head lets you clean underneath it.
